Meet Me

Meet me at midnight

in the forest of my dreams

Let’s throw our worries and pain

Into the bonfire of destiny

And dance around it with gratitude

For everything we have today

And everything we will have tomorrow

Bullying

Unlike every girl her age
She hated games at school
They called her fat and blown up
Or a very silly fool.

She hid herself at lunch time
And ate her cold egg rolls
They often sprayed some water
If she crossed their lazy stroll

She came home with ink spots
On her only pleated skirt
She scrubbed and rubbed at them
They stayed on like stubborn dirt

The giggles would often haunt her
Way into the night
When she cried into her pillow
Dreading the signs of light.

She came up with excuses
A different ache everyday
Until a teacher found out
The reason for her dismay

Bullying isn’t funny
It scars someone for life
They take ages to recover
Or sometimes take their life

If the cruel things that they did
They’d have replaced with smiles and cheers
They’d have made a friend forever
Someone who’d hold them dear.

Yama’s plight

No one enjoys my mention
No one enjoys my stay
If you could do anything to stop me
You’d be at it every single day

You think of me as darkness
You even wear black when I’m around
It’s not like I enjoy my job!
I’m simply and purely duty bound

You say I come uninvited
You say I don’t knock at your gate
But you knew I was surely on my way
When your pearly whites began to shake

If that wasn’t enough warning
I turned your black hair white
Are you telling me you didn’t notice!
Or did you think you’d put up a fight?

You say my visit was “untimely”
Without ever having peeked into my book
Let me tell you this visit was scribbled
With that very first breath you took

As someone who sees this all day
I have some advice to share
Just be and do your very best
Show someone you’re here and you care

If you’re blessed with lots of fortune
You could maybe do a bit more
I won’t let you carry any with you!
So what would you opt for?

I’m “nothing but the next big adventure”
Said a wise old Dumbledore
I thank him for being one of a few
Who didn’t hate me from the core.

Night Pearl

On a quiet, windy, starry night
When all are busy with their meals
She lies on a wet sandy beach
And I let some waves kiss her heels

Her hair scattered around her head
She lies there, expressions dead
A tiny pearl escapes her eye
Her lips part and slips out a sigh

I wonder, what hurts her heart
I wonder, if it’s been sliced apart
I can’t do much, from up so high
So I send a breeze, as a start

A small attempt to let her know
Its alright to stand all alone
As I do, in a deep dark sky
But it hasn’t dulled or dimmed my glow

It brings out the best in me
For her and all the world to see
So just hold on, my little child
Let the pain power your brightest side

Eclipse

He lay there on my lap,
And turned a bit to catch the sun.
The RayBan propped on his head,
turned shades of blue and some red.

Eyes closed, he asked if I could say,
If the moon missed the sight of day.

I thought a while and said maybe not,
For she sees it all in another slot.
But when I think about it more,
I wonder how I can be sure.

So He said:

Its not the sights that she will miss,
Its the bright face, that is his.
Never stopping in their tracks,
No time to sit and relax.
Never has he sneaked a kiss,
Or come closer, than an eclipse.

I sat there frozen in my place,
A shocked glare on my face.

Those word, just couldn’t be his,
What’s happened,what had I missed?

This was not a man I knew,
My stare clearly asked,
“Who are you?”

He tossed his hair and threw a wink,
As his dreamy words began to sink.

The moon quickly kissed her sun,
Before he ducked to make a run.
I chased him down to the car,
My sun, my moon, my life, my star.

Divine Magic

If you dont believe in magic
I truly pity you
Some are gifted to see it always
But for others it isn’t true

If you ever rise before sunshine
Look for the fire flies
That fly into the bushes
And on a flower die

If you watch the tiny sparrow
Bravely leave her nest
Not knowing if she’ll be back
She faces her daily test

If you ever get out at night
watch the moon lit sky
You might be lucky to see a shooting star
Simply pass us by

If you think of every atom
It’s seen it all before
Life in any and many forms
From the crust to the core

If you’ve ever wondered where from
A mighty big tree grows
You’ll know it slowly climbs out
From a seed smaller than your toe

If you think of where you came from
And why you look like dad
Please note its not just wild chance
That arranged your DNA strand

If you still dont believe in magic
Please close your eyes and think
Of the oldest memory in your head
then you might stare and blink

Inspiration : Conversations with my Angel 🙂

Everytime

In every breath I take
Hides an unsaid longing
A concern for your well being
& the essence of our bonding

Every meal that I make
I cook with love and care
And wish I could feed you
With laughs and smiles to share

Every time it drizzles
Or the sky covers in grey
Memories dance around me
The things we did that day

Every time I take the wheel
Your voice reels in my head
Laughing at my driving skills
Turning all pink and red

Every smile that i wear
Starts & stops with you
We should spend more time together
So you can see them too

I miss your arms around me
Like when we licked through a cone of ice
I gave up sweets altogether
Now the sweet memories will suffice.

Tell me more

Tell me more about you
When did you first lie?
What is it you miss most?
What always makes you cry?

Tell me more about you
Are you a gracious host?
Do you like porridge for breakfast?
Or  ketchup with some toast?

Tell me more about you
Do snakes scare you stiff?
Is there anyone you ever wished,
You could throw off a cliff?

Did you ever stay up at night
Only to count the stars?
When did you start drinking?
And what gave you those scars?

Tell me more about you
What’s your most cherished dream?
Did you ever get it fulfilled?
What’s left for us to achieve?

What’s the promise that you broke,
And regretted it a second not?
What’s the promise that you still keep,
Like a soldier’s well tied knot?

Tell me more about you
I wanna close the gaps of time
I wanna feel I’ve known you forever
Its a feeling most sublime.

Dedication: To my dearest Angel

Through a lense

They told me I had to smile
so I close my eyes to emulate
the most radiant smile I’d seen till date.

It was no surprise to what I’d see
as your face filled my reverie.
that curly hair, those steely eyes
Full of love and awed surprise

That wicked smile, those little teeth,
changing beard and dimple cheeks.

People stopped to stare and gaze
at the tired face that was suddenly ablaze

Lullaby

Every night as I unwind,

& try ways to clear my mind,

my thoughts keep racing back to you,

& I wonder if you think them too.

I wonder when you lie in bed

do you think of something I once said?

Does a little prank that I did play,

make you smile in the middle of your day?

Do your eyes search, of their free will,

every crowd for signs of my lean build?

Does your heart jump and skip a beat,

every time your cell phone rings or tweets?

I wonder when you dress each day,

do you ever wish I’d cross your way?

The questions don’t cease to flow,

till into dreams they slowly go,

but your mind I’d surely love to know,

Coz you’re in me, from head to toe.
