Mirror, mirror,on the wall

She looked into the mirror,

she didn’t like what she saw.

She asked herself if ever,

she gazed at it with awe.

Lines, wrinkles, skin and bones,

greying hair and dark skin tones.

Sunken eyes and red chapped lips,

sagging skin at the hips.

Flashbacks of the days gone by,

when she danced under a night sky.

youthful, fresh and full of grace,

people often whispered ‘what a face’.

Tears rolled down her blue green eyes

A mirror seldom, if ever, lies.

If she wished to go back in time,

to relive that day one last time,

would it be such a crime?
